Our History

When representatives from Ozona Baptist Church broke ground on a small piece of donated land in the rural city of Oldsmar in 1961, they could not have foreseen the impact that little mission would have. Oldsmar Baptist Church grew throughout the 1960's, but flourished in the Jesus People Movement of the 1970's under Pastor John Stanton, with the gifts of the Holy Spirit being experienced in power. Oldsmar Christian School was Pastor Stanton's vision, opening in 1980, and still serving elementary through high school today. Brother Eddie Preston became pastor in 1982, and faithfully and humbly served for over 40 years until his passing in  2023. In 2025, Zack Stoutimore became our newest senior pastor. Many of the original and early members of Oldsmar Baptist still attend our congregation today, a testament to the legacy of those pioneers who went before us, and the bonds of the Spirit.
